Tracy Turner, MBA, CIMA

Tracy Turner is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Turner Financial Group, located in Carlsbad, CA. Tracy has been in the financial services industry since 1979. He began his investment management career in 1985 as a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch. For ten years he was as a Senior Vice President and Senior Investment Management Consultant with the Smith Barney Consulting Group where he advised institutional and high net-worth clients on investment policy and manager selection.

Since founding Turner Financial Group in 2004, Tracy has specialized in advising 1031 and 1033 exchange clients on replacement property solutions. He has written and lectured extensively on tenant-in-common (TIC) and Delaware Statutory Trust properties as like-kind solutions for 1031 and 1033 exchange transactions pursuant to IRS Revenue Procedures 2002-22 and 2004-86. He is also a frequent guest speaker on the Exeter Group Real Estate Talk Show and at numerous industry conventions.

Tracy’s education includes an MBA from the University of Nebraska and the professional designation “Certified Investment Management Analyst” (CIMA) from the Wharton School-University of Pennsylvania. As a Registered Securities Principal, Tracy holds FINRA series 24, 7, 63, 31 and 65 securities licenses. As a real estate professional, Tracy holds a California Real Estate license. Tracy is a member of the San Diego Chapter of the CCIM, the Real Estate Investment Securities Association, the National Association of Realtors, and the California Association of Realtors and the Investment Management Consultants Association. He is currently a candidate for the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, a distinction held by only 5% of commercial realtors throughout the United States.

On a more personal note, Tracy enjoys running, bike riding, weight lifting and spending time with his wife Cheryl, their two children Ashlee and Taylor, and their golden retriever Roxy.
